Director of Marketing & Communications

  • Purpose of the Role:

    The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for defining, strengthening, and promoting the organization’s brand, value proposition, and presence across all channels. This role leads the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that drive awareness/needs, connection, engagement, and enrolment while ensuring a consistent and premium customer experience. The Director serves as a strategic partner to the CMAO and the executive leadership team, supporting organizational goals through creative campaigns, storytelling, digital engagement, events, and stakeholder communications.

    This position also provides strategic and administrative support to the CMAO by aligning marketing, communication, and outreach efforts with the organization’s vision and objectives.


    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Operational Leadership & Strategy
      • Define and articulate the organization’s brand identity, value proposition, and market positioning.
      • Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels—digital, print, media, and in-person experiences.
      • Develop brand messaging that resonates with students, parents, educators, partners, and the broader community.
      • Oversee reputation management and ensure a strong, positive public image for the organization.
    2. Integrated Marketing & Campaign Management
      • Design and implement multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, social, email, events, PR) to generate qualified leads and increase engagement.
      • Manage all aspects of digital marketing, including website content, SEO/SEM, paid ads, and social media strategy.
      • Leverage data and analytics to monitor campaign performance, track ROI, and inform budget and other decisions making.
      • Collaborate with academic and admissions teams to align marketing strategies with enrolment and program goals.
    3. Customer /Community Experience & Engagement
      • Create and oversee initiatives that deliver a seamless, premium experience for students, families, and stakeholders across all touchpoints.
      • Implement customer journey mapping and develop communications that enhance engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
      • Develop and maintain a content and engagement activity calendars that support storytelling and thought leadership in education.
    4. Events, Partnerships, and Public Relations
      • Plan and execute signature institutional events, open houses, conferences, and community engagement initiatives that elevate the brand.
      • Manage media relations, press releases, and public communications.
      • Build and maintain relationships with key partners, influencers, and stakeholders to extend the organization’s reach and reputation.
    5. Leadership and Collaboration
      • Lead and mentor a cross-functional marketing and communications team.
      • Work collaboratively with the CEO, Chief Officers, and other department heads to support institutional priorities.
      • Provide administrative and strategic marketing support to the executive office and ensure consistent messaging in all communications.
      • Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.

    Qualifications:

    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master’s degree will be an advantage).
    • Experience:
      • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, branding, or communications, preferably within the education, non-profit, or service industry.
      • Proven success in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive brand growth and lead generation.
      • Experience managing creative teams, digital marketing, and high-profile events.
      • Strong understanding of customer experience design and stakeholder engagement.
    • Skills & Competencies:
      • Strategic thinker with creative flair and strong analytical capabilities.
      • Native language proficiency in English and Mandarin. 3rd language will be an advantage.
      • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
      • Expertise in digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, analytics tools, and marketing automation.
      • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
      • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within a fast-paced environment.
      • Deep understanding of education sector dynamics, trends, and audience behaviors is an asset.
