Chief Marketing & Admissions Officer (CMAO)

  • Purpose of the Role:

    The Chief Marketing & Admissions Officer (CMAO) is responsible for developing and leading the marketing, communications, and admissions strategies for E&K Academia, a leading educational institution. This executive role will work to enhance the organization’s brand, design and create a seamless and brand-promised prospective families’ journey through targeted and impactful marketing campaigns and admissions processes. The CMAO will play a crucial role in shaping the institution’s public image, developing channels & partnerships, driving enrolment growth, and ensuring that the organization meets its strategic goals through effective marketing and admissions strategies.


    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Marketing Leadership & Strategy
      • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
      • Oversee the organization’s brand positioning, ensuring that all marketing and communication efforts reflect the institution’s values and educational excellence.
      • Lead the creation of multi-channel marketing campaigns (digital, print, social media, PR, etc.) to increase awareness and engagement among prospective students, parents, and key stakeholders.
      • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and target audiences to refine marketing strategies.
      • Manage the overall marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to drive ROI for marketing activities.
    2. Admissions Strategy & Enrolment Growth
      • Oversee the admissions strategy, ensuring that enrolment goals are met and that the admissions process is seamless, transparent, and student-centered.
      • Lead the development of admissions marketing materials (brochures, websites, videos, etc.) to effectively communicate the value proposition of the institution to prospective students and their families.
      • Work closely with the admissions team to optimize recruitment channels, including digital marketing, partnerships, outreach events, and high school/college fairs.
      • Develop and implement strategies to attract diverse student populations, with a focus on inclusivity and expanding access to education.
      • Ensure that all prospective student inquiries, applications, and communication are handled promptly and professionally to provide an exceptional customer experience.
    3. Digital Strategy & Innovation
      • Lead the digital transformation of the marketing and admissions functions, leveraging data analytics, social media, and SEO strategies to increase visibility and drive lead generation.
      • Oversee the organization’s website, ensuring that it is user-friendly, up-to-date, and optimized for search engines to maximize traffic and engagement.
      • Manage the institution’s social media strategy, including content creation, community engagement, and performance analysis, to build brand loyalty and attract new students.
      • Stay current with digital marketing trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually innovate and improve marketing efforts.
    4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
      • Serve as the primary representative for the institution’s marketing and admissions efforts, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, alumni, faculty, and the broader community.
      • Lead public relations efforts, including media relations and crisis communication, to ensure the organization’s positive reputation in the media and broader educational landscape.
      • Collaborate with other functions to align marketing and admissions strategies with institutional goals and ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints.
      • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to engage faculty and staff in institutional marketing efforts.
    5. Data Analysis & Performance Reporting
      • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing and admissions, tracking and reporting on campaign effectiveness, enrolment trends, and student acquisition costs.
      • Use data analytics tools to monitor and improve the marketing and admissions funnels, optimizing for conversion rates and efficiency.
      • Conduct post-enrolment group-led surveys and research to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and the overall admissions process, using feedback to inform future strategies.
    6. Team Leadership & Development
      • Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing and admissions teams, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance.
      • Set clear goals and expectations for team members, conducting regular performance reviews and providing professional development opportunities to build a strong team.
      • Ensure the marketing and admissions functions work collaboratively to meet organizational goals and drive enrolment growth.

    Qualifications:

    • Education:
      • A Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A background in Education, Higher Education Administration, or a related field is a plus.
    • Experience:
      • At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in business, channel developments and market expansion, ideally within the education or professional services sectors.
      • Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing and admissions strategies that drive enrolment growth and brand awareness.
      • Experience managing teams and overseeing both strategic and tactical marketing functions.
      • Familiarity with digital marketing tools, CRM systems, analytics platforms, and student recruitment technologies.
      • A deep understanding of the international school, higher education landscape, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities.
